9a68b78973 AP_DroneCAN: allow BRD_SAFETY_MASK to work on CAN ESCs and servos 
this allows for testing of a fwd motor or control surfaces while not
allowing for VTOL ESCs to run. This makes CAN actuators behave the
same as direct PWM actuators

ded8d2a4b4 AP_Scripting: added revert_param.lua applet 
This script implements a easy parameter reversion system to help with
manual in-flight tuning. It allows you to do a wide range of manual
tuning while flying and if you get in trouble (eg. an oscillation)
then you can use a switch to instantly revert all the parameter
changes to the values from startup.

bbcc31ecec AP_RCProtocol: Refactor SUMD to remove legacy cruft 
Of particular note this removes the partial SUMH support. This has been
broken as far back as 2018, as we only called add_input() if we were in
the SUMD or SUMD failsafe cases, which meant SUMH didn't work. This
commits to that path, and removes all the 8 bit CRC, SUMH support.

This also refactors a number of things for readability (condensing white
space, simplifying guards around debug code). Many of the debugs could
probably be removed, but this simplifies it.

This was tested against the RCProtocol example test, and everything
there reports a pass.

81e0685d33 HAL_ChibiOS: support recovery from a mutex deadlock 
if we have a bug which causes a lock order deadlock locking up the
main thread then try a force release of the mutex to allow flight to
continue without a watchdog

velocity glitch if a vehicle is descending or ascending when aiding
switches to AID_NONE

e3c4d9fd23 GCS_MAVLink: allocate mavlink status and send buffers dynamically 
This makes ArduPilot responsible for supplying buffers to the mavlink layer, rather than that layer allocating them based on MAVLINK_COMM_NUM_BUFFERS.

We will want to rename MAVLINK_COMM_NUM_BUFFERS to AP_GCS_MAX_BACKENDS at some stage.

1055c5f1c6 waf: fixed dependency of ChibiOS build on compiler flags 
this adds a chibios_flags.h which contains the flags we pass to the
ChibiOS make, which allows us to have a make level dependency on the
flags

this fixes (among other things) the build of copter followed by
bootloader for SPRacingH7

146cc3312c HAL_ChibiOS: implement ff_memalloc, fixing mkdir() after format 
this implements FATFS memory allocation in the HAL_ChibiOS malloc.c
which fixes mkdir() after a format of the microSD

The strategy is to deny large allocations and try for DMA allocations
if possible. This both fixes mkdir() and makes filesystem operations
faster as we have less copying of memory via the bouncebuffer

these are causing some boards to crash on startup. Tested with a

a25ffa266f AP_IOMCU: fixed issue with not regaining RC input 
this fixes an issue where when you lose R/C input on IOMCU that you
may not regain it when R/C comes back.

The issue stems from us still processing the DSM uart when we are
using the SD3 "SBUS" uart for RC input, and still doing the switch of
the SD3 config every 2 seconds.

When we are not searching for a new protocol we should not be changing
UART config

7e84028a91 HAL_ChibiOS: fixed sdcard lockup with SPI sdcard 
this affects boards that share sdcard on the same bus as another SPI
device. In this case it was a QiotekZealotH743 where logging stopped

this issue is that the SPI hooks for MMC SPI did not do a DMA channel
lock before the SPI device lock. So when the RAMTRON driver on the
QiotekZealotH743 which is on the same SPI2 bus as the sdcard did an
operation we had a lock order violation

2b45b235ad AP_ICEngine: fixed a bug engine control when running 
if you have a mission item for engine control with delayed start at
height and the engine is already running them it would put the ICE
subsystem into a state where it would no longer start the engine

It was actually 2 bugs:

 - an engine control to do a height delayed start should be ignored if
   the engine is already running. This prevents an engine control to
   start the engine from stopping the engine

 - a start_chan high should always try to start the engine
   immediately, even if in the wait state

ce703cbed7 HAL_ChibiOS: fixed asserts in AnalogIn driver 
when building with --enable-asserts on boards with ADC1 and ADC3
(eg. Holybro H7 based boards) we were triggering asserts on bad ADC
index. In order to preserve the asserts (which are good for catching
errors) we need to ifdef the relevant calls

4a8eda0589 AP_HAL: default CAN_Px_DRIVER to 0 on SITL 
having this default to 1 slows down SITL startup for a lot of people
due to the CAN wait for sensor delays. It is easy to enable it when
CAN is needed in SITL

48acb1a2f7 AP_Logger: added LOG_DARM_RATEMAX 
this sets the logging rate max when disarmed. In combination with
LOG_DISARMED=3 it gives a very nice setup to get always on logging
with very little addition to the log sizes. It is particularly useful
in combination with LOG_REPLAY=1

63e45a3910 AP_Logger: added LOG_DISARMED=3 
when LOG_DISARMED is set to 3 then we log while disarmed but if we
reboot without ever arming the log is discarded. This allows for using
LOG_DISARMED without filling the microSD.
