If Python can't keep up with the message volume coming from the autopilot we never manage to drain all messages from the vehicle.

So try pausing/unpausing the simulation so we can drain the link...

This test was failing when the yaw control on the simulated vehicle was cleaned up.  Navigating in body frame meant that the vehicle was told to go to a different position than we were actually expecting.

Peter Barker ad4b934b3c autotest: correct MAVFTP test for autotest server
The autotest server runs autotest.py from a directory one-up from the
ArduPilot root directory, whereas most people run it from the root
directory.  The test wasn't taking that into account, looking for a
directory which doesn't necessarily exist.

Changed to os.listdir() to find a directory to look for in the MAVFTP
output.

Shiv Tyagi 0cae113521 autotest: reset RNGFNDx_TYPE in rangefinder driver test
We should reset RNGFNDx_TYPE after we finish testing a set of rangefinder drivers to avoid failing successive tests.
Also, we now fail prearm checks if we receive no data from RF, we need to continuously send DISTANCE_SENSOR messages through mavlink to pass those checks while trying to arm.

sitl_gps was sending out ubx packets even if the device was supposed to
be absent, allowing the EKF to get a lag and thus allocate its buffers.

The new sim doesn't do that, so we do need to direct the EKF to not use
the GPS.

Braedon O'Meara de91058b1a Tools: Add tmux support to run_in_terminal_window.sh
Added in an option so that if running SITL in a tmux session it will open a new window in tmux.
More or less an alternate option to screen.
It will detect if its running in a tmux session by checking the $TMUX and $TERM env variables.
I put it before other options because when I am running a tmux session even in a GUI environment
I would prefer a new Tmux window compared to a new terminal.
This will only run if youre already in a tmux session it will not launch a new session.

Autotest was failing because there was an expectation that the plane would fly relatively north from the takeoff point.
This assumption may not be true. We work around it by using a tin can instead of an exclusion polygon so that we breach no matter the direction we fly.

Peter Barker e8f96efe72 autotest: wait for stats initialisation before rebooting
If the RTC time we reset parameters (STAT_RESET) is zero then we reset all parameters.

In SITL we only set that time if we see a GPS due to the AP_RTC RTC_TYPES parameter default bitmask value of 1

So if you reboot SITL fast enough while STAT_RESET is zero you can see that STAT_BOOTCNT does not increase. Easily reproducible in SITL; start with -w and type reboot in several times before SITL sees the GPS come up and you can see STAT_BOOTCNT doesn't increase.

Fix is to ensure STAT_RESET is non-zero before rebooting.

James O'Shannessy 215901be30 Autotest: Correct the logic for fence based autotest functions
Adds corrections to enabling fence using aux function.
Correctly test fences statically. Only uploaded fences can be checked using a fence file, so we check those first. Then we add steps to check tin can, max and minm all set the fence as present, as expected.
Plane will support MAV_PROTOCOL_CAPABILITY_MISSION_FENCE, so we assert that it does support it.
To test ceiling and floor, leverage some existing functions for takeoff, change altitude and land. Check for respective breach.
Add a floor breach check to copter.

Should fix this scenario:
 - Plane soaring test uses different defaults file
 - soaring test sets a parameter away from default value
 - context pop sets it back to the value in the defaults file
 - it is now in permanent storage with the default found in the
different defaults file used by the soaring test
 - we finish running the soaring test an reset the SITL command line
back to default, with the old defaults file
 - we go on to running the next test.  At this point the value for that
parameter is the default in the defaults file used by the soaring test.

Something similar applies in the Callisto test.

The new check that the prearms-passing bit from the autopilot
indicated prearms have passed was failing here because the yaw isn't
alighed until we frob channel 7.

The intent of the prearm seems ot have been to ensure we can get a
global position - that can be accomplished by polling the home position.

Peter Barker 1075e13352 autotest: stop set_parameter from using get_parameter
Setting a parameter on ArduPilot causes the autopilot to emit the new
value in a PARAM_VALUE message, so we do not need to fetch it ourselves.

Fetching it ourselves causes subtle problems for the autotest suite
where a PARAM_VALUE is currently in the uart buffer - so the autotest
set_parameter has consumed one PARAM_VALUE message (the auto-emitted
one).  If it immediately does a set_parameter then the next
PARAM_VALUE it sees will be the OLD value as the value comes out of the
uart.

Peter Barker 9e148f245b autotest: param_parse.py: correct parsing of Values fields
the regex used to parse the values field later is rather strict - no
spaces allowed around the : for example.

Canonicalise the string before trying to do anything more with it
(including validation)
