This refactoring should make it easier to add new calling conventions.
Replace ffi_call_STDCALL and ffi_call_SYSV by a ffi_call_x86 function
that cleans up the stack when FFI_SYSV is used, and does nothing for
FFI_STDCALL.
Remove libffi_msvc\win32.S, which is out of date and also unused; it
was only used for building ctypes with the MingW compiler.

MacOS X: Enable 4-way universal builds
This patch adds a new configure argument on OSX:
--with-universal-archs=[32-bit|64-bit|all]
When used with the --enable-universalsdk option this controls which
CPU architectures are includes in the framework. The default is 32-bit,
meaning i386 and ppc. The most useful alternative is 'all', which includes
all 4 CPU architectures supported by MacOS X (i386, ppc, x86_64 and ppc64).
This includes limited support for the Carbon bindings in 64-bit mode as well,
limited because (a) I haven't done extensive testing and (b) a large portion
of the Carbon API's aren't available in 64-bit mode anyway.
I've also duplicated a feature of Apple's build of python: setting the
environment variable 'ARCHFLAGS' controls the '-arch' flags used for building
extensions using distutils.

Issue #1798: Add ctypes calling convention that allows safe access of errno.
ctypes maintains thread-local storage that has space for two error
numbers: private copies of the system 'errno' value and, on Windows,
the system error code accessed by the GetLastError() and
SetLastError() api functions.
Foreign functions created with CDLL(..., use_errno=True), when called,
swap the system 'errno' value with the private copy just before the
actual function call, and swapped again immediately afterwards. The
'use_errno' parameter defaults to False, in this case 'ctypes_errno'
is not touched.
On Windows, foreign functions created with CDLL(...,
use_last_error=True) or WinDLL(..., use_last_error=True) swap the
system LastError value with the ctypes private copy.
The values are also swapped immeditately before and after ctypes
callback functions are called, if the callbacks are constructed using
the new optional use_errno parameter set to True: CFUNCTYPE(...,
use_errno=TRUE) or WINFUNCTYPE(..., use_errno=True).
New ctypes functions are provided to access the ctypes private copies
from Python:
- ctypes.set_errno(value) and ctypes.set_last_error(value) store
'value' in the private copy and returns the previous value.
- ctypes.get_errno() and ctypes.get_last_error() returns the current
ctypes private copies value.

apparently because tanh(-0.) loses the sign of zero on that platform.
If true, this is a bug in FreeBSD.
Added a configure test to verify this. I still need to figure out
how best to deal with this failure.

This should fix issue2632. A long description of the two competing
problems is in the bug report (one old, one recently introduced trying
to fix the old one). In short:
buffer data during socket._fileobject.read() and readlines() within a
cStringIO object instead of a [] of str()s returned from the recv()
call.
This prevents excessive memory use due to the size parameter being
passed to recv() being grossly larger than the actual size of the data
returned *and* prevents excessive cpu usage due to looping in python
calling recv() with a very tiny size value if min() is used as the
previous memory-use bug "fix" did.
It also documents what the socket._fileobject._rbufsize member is
actually used for.
This is a candidate for back porting to 2.5.

And of course, the test failed:
a bytearray was used without reason in io.TextIOWrapper.tell().
The difference is that iterating over bytes (i.e. str in python2.6) returns 1-char bytes,

Try to get this test to be less flaky. It was failing sometimes because
the connect would succeed before the timeout occurred. Try using an
address and port that hopefully doesn't exist to ensure we get no response.
If this doesn't work, we can use a public address close to python.org
and hopefully that address never gets taken.

Ensure that the mailbox is closed to prevent problems on Windows with removing
an open file. This doesn't seem to be a problem in 2.6, but that appears
to be somewhat accidental (specific to reference counting). When this
gets merged to 3.0, it will make the 3.0 code simpler.

Added some statistics code to dict and list object code. I wanted to test how a larger freelist affects the reusage of freed objects. Contrary to my gut feelings 80 objects is more than fine for small apps. I haven't profiled a large app yet.
