gh-47146: Soft-deprecate structmember.h, expose its contents via Python.h (GH-99014)
The ``structmember.h`` header is deprecated, though it continues to be available
and there are no plans to remove it. There are no deprecation warnings. Old code
can stay unchanged (unless the extra include and non-namespaced macros bother
you greatly). Specifically, no uses in CPython are updated -- that would just be
unnecessary churn.
The ``structmember.h`` header is deprecated, though it continues to be
available and there are no plans to remove it.

Its contents are now available just by including ``Python.h``,
with a ``Py`` prefix added if it was missing:

- `PyMemberDef`, `PyMember_GetOne` and`PyMember_SetOne`
- Type macros like `Py_T_INT`, `Py_T_DOUBLE`, etc.
  (previously ``T_INT``, ``T_DOUBLE``, etc.)
- The flags `Py_READONLY` (previously ``READONLY``) and
  `Py_AUDIT_READ` (previously all uppercase)

Several items are not exposed from ``Python.h``:

- `T_OBJECT` (use `Py_T_OBJECT_EX`)
- `T_NONE` (previously undocumented, and pretty quirky)
- The macro ``WRITE_RESTRICTED`` which does nothing.
- The macros ``RESTRICTED`` and ``READ_RESTRICTED``, equivalents of
  `Py_AUDIT_READ`.
- In some configurations, ``<stddef.h>`` is not included from ``Python.h``.
  It should be included manually when using ``offsetof()``.

The deprecated header continues to provide its original
contents under the original names.
Your old code can stay unchanged, unless the extra include and non-namespaced
macros bother you greatly.

There is discussion on the issue to rename `T_PYSSIZET` to `PY_T_SSIZE` or
similar. I chose not to do that -- users will probably copy/paste that with any
spelling, and not renaming it makes migration docs simpler.

bpo-45459: Add pytypedefs.h header file (GH-31527)
Move forward declarations of Python C API types to a new pytypedefs.h
header file to solve interdependency issues between header files.

pytypedefs.h contains forward declarations of the following types:

* PyCodeObject
* PyFrameObject
* PyGetSetDef
* PyInterpreterState
* PyLongObject
* PyMemberDef
* PyMethodDef
* PyModuleDef
* PyObject
* PyThreadState
* PyTypeObject

bpo-42800: add audit hooks for f_code and tb_frame (GH-24182)
Accessing the following attributes will now fire PEP 578 style audit hooks as ("object.__getattr__", obj, name):
* PyTracebackObject: tb_frame
* PyFrameObject: f_code
* PyGenObject: gi_code, gi_frame
* PyCoroObject: cr_code, cr_frame
* PyAsyncGenObject: ag_code, ag_frame
Add an AUDIT_READ attribute flag aliased to READ_RESTRICTED.
Update obsolete flag documentation.

    Moved all of the capture_server socket setup code into the try block
    so that the event gets set if a failure occurs during server setup

    assignment before proceeding. The test data in DispatcherWithSendTests

    Py_ssize_t members.

    Simplify the implementation of UnicodeError objects:
    start and end attributes are now stored directly as
    Py_ssize_t members, which simplifies various get and
    set functions.

    urllib2_localnet says it leaks probably due to threads. So ignore it.
    popen2 is also complaining probably for similar reasons.
    make install always reports failure, so don't mail in this case.

Guido van Rossum 50e9fb9e2d Completely get rid of PyClass and PyInstance.
(classobject.[ch] aren't empty yet because they also define PyMethod.)
This breaks lots of stuff, notably cPickle. But it's a step in the right
direction. I'll clean it up later.
(Also a few unrelated changes, e.g. T_NONE to define a "struct member"
that is always None, and simplification of __hash__ -- these are unfinished.)

Guido van Rossum 6b70599450 Fix SF bug #486144: Uninitialized __slot__ vrbl is None.
There's now a new structmember code, T_OBJECT_EX, which is used for
all __slot__ variables (except __weakref__, which has special behavior
anyway). This new code raises AttributeError when the variable is
NULL rather than converting NULL to None.

Guido van Rossum 6f7993765a Add optional docstrings to member descriptors. For backwards
compatibility, this required all places where an array of "struct
memberlist" structures was declared that is referenced from a type's
tp_members slot to change the type of the structure to PyMemberDef;
"struct memberlist" is now only used by old code that still calls
PyMember_Get/Set. The code in PyObject_GenericGetAttr/SetAttr now
calls the new APIs PyMember_GetOne/SetOne, which take a PyMemberDef
argument.

As examples, I added actual docstrings to the attributes of a few
types: file, complex, instance method, super, and xxsubtype.spamlist.

Also converted the symtable to new style getattr.

Guido van Rossum c299fc16f2 Add support for restricting access based on restricted execution mode.

bits: READ_RESTRICTED and WRITE_RESTRICTED, as well as a shortcut
RESTRICTED that means both.

Guido van Rossum caa6380886 The great renaming, phase two: all header files have been updated to
use the new names exclusively, and the linker will see the new names.
Files that import "Python.h" also only see the new names. Files that
import "allobjects.h" will continue to be able to use the old names,
due to the inclusion (in allobjects.h) of "rename2.h".

* Replaced "dictobject" with more powerful "mappingobject"
* New per-type functio tp_hash to implement arbitrary object hashing,
