Keep the old private _PyCFunctionFastWithKeywords name (Python 3.7)
as an alias to the new public name PyCFunctionFastWithKeywords
(Python 3.13a4).
_PyCFunctionWithKeywords doesn't exist in Python 3.13a3, whereas
_PyCFunctionFastWithKeywords was removed in Python 3.13a4.
Fix C++ compiler warnings on cast macros, like _PyObject_CAST(), when
casting a constant expression to a non constant type: use
const_cast<> in C++.
* In C++, Py_SAFE_DOWNCAST() now uses static_cast<> rather than
reinterpret_cast<>.
* Add tests to the _testcppext C++ extension.
* test_cppext no longer captures stdout in verbose mode.
Fix C++ compiler warnings about "old-style cast"
(g++ -Wold-style-cast) in the Python C API. Use C++
reinterpret_cast<> and static_cast<> casts when the Python C API is
used in C++.
Example of fixed warning:

Add _Py_reinterpret_cast() and _Py_static_cast() macros.
Move forward declarations of Python C API types to a new pytypedefs.h
header file to solve interdependency issues between header files.
pytypedefs.h contains forward declarations of the following types:
* PyCodeObject
* PyFrameObject
* PyGetSetDef
* PyInterpreterState
* PyLongObject
* PyMemberDef
* PyMethodDef
* PyModuleDef
* PyObject
* PyThreadState
* PyTypeObject
Module C state is now accessible from C-defined heap type methods (PEP 573).

The public API symbols being removed are:
_PyBytes_InsertThousandsGroupingLocale, _PyBytes_InsertThousandsGrouping, _Py_InitializeFromArgs, _Py_InitializeFromWideArgs, _PyFloat_Repr, _PyFloat_Digits,
_PyFloat_DigitsInit, PyFrame_ExtendStack, _PyAIterWrapper_Type, PyNullImporter_Type, PyCmpWrapper_Type, PySortWrapper_Type, PyNoArgsFunction.
Remove PyMethod_ClearFreeList() and PyCFunction_ClearFreeList()
functions: the free lists of bound method objects have been removed.
Remove also _PyMethod_Fini() and _PyCFunction_Fini() functions.
bpo-37151: remove special case for PyCFunction from PyObject_Call
Alse, make the undocumented function PyCFunction_Call an alias
of PyObject_Call and deprecate it.
Issue #29259, #29263. methoddescr_call() creates a PyCFunction object, call it
and the destroy it. Add a new _PyMethodDef_RawFastCallDict() method to avoid
the temporary PyCFunction object.
Issue #27810: Add a new calling convention for C functions:
PyObject* func(PyObject *self, PyObject **args,
Py_ssize_t nargs, PyObject *kwnames);
Where args is a C array of positional arguments followed by values of keyword
arguments. nargs is the number of positional arguments, kwnames are keys of
keyword arguments. kwnames can be NULL.
Issue #27128: Add _PyObject_FastCall(), a new calling convention avoiding a
temporary tuple to pass positional parameters in most cases, but create a
temporary tuple if needed (ex: for the tp_call slot).
The API is prepared to support keyword parameters, but the full implementation
will come later (_PyFunction_FastCall() doesn't support keyword parameters
yet).
Add also:
* _PyStack_AsTuple() helper function: convert a "stack" of parameters to
a tuple.
* _PyCFunction_FastCall(): fast call implementation for C functions
* _PyFunction_FastCall(): fast call implementation for Python functions
Second step: keep tp_getattr functions when they are complex,
but use PyObject_GenericGetAttr() as a fallback.
These were the last occurrences of Py_FindMethod.

In PyNumber_ToBase, changed from an assert to returning an error when PyObject_Index() returns something other than an int or long. It should never be possible to trigger this, as PyObject_Index checks to make sure it returns an int or long.

Re-enable tests, they were failing since gc.collect() clears the various freelists.
They still remain fragile.
For example, a call to assertEqual currently does not make any allocation
(which surprised me at first).
But this can change when gc.collect also deletes the numerous "zombie frames"
attached to each function.
