Benjamin Peterson d157a4c3dd don't use a slot wrapper from a different special method (closes #14658) 
This also alters the fix to #11603. Specifically, setting __repr__ to
object.__str__ now raises a recursion RuntimeError when str() or repr() is
called instead of silently bypassing the recursion. I believe this behavior is
more correct.

Victor Stinner e363ec1057 (Merge 3.1) Issue #9756: When calling a method descriptor or a slot wrapper 
descriptor, the check of the object type doesn't read the __class__ attribute
anymore.  Fix a crash if a class override its __class__ attribute (e.g. a proxy
of the str type).

Benjamin Peterson 9179dab3f4 data descriptors do not override the class dictionary if __get__ is not defined 
Adjust documentation and add a test to verify this behavior.

Armin Rigo 581eb1e498 Fix one of the tests: it relied on being present in an "output test" in 
order to actually test what it was supposed to test, i.e. that the code
in the __del__ method did not crash.  Use instead the new helper
test_support.captured_output().

Amaury Forgeot d'Arc 60d6c7f0cc Issue #2115: __slot__ attributes setting was 10x slower. 
Also correct a possible crash using ABCs.

This change is exactly the same as an optimisation
done 5 years ago, but on slot *access*:
