Hirokazu Yamamoto 10a018c285 On windows, os.chdir given unicode was not working if GetCurrentDirectoryW 
returned a path longer than MAX_PATH. (But It's doubtful this code path is
really executed because I cannot move to such directory on win2k)

Amaury Forgeot d'Arc d78b9dcbc3 #4069: aSet.remove(otherSet) would always report the empty frozenset([]) as the missing key. 
Now it correctly refers to the initial otherset.

Gregory P. Smith 0806749e63 Works around issue3863: freebsd4/5/6 and os2emx are known to have OS bugs when 
calling fork() from a child thread.  This disables that unit test (with a note
printed to stderr) on those platforms.

A caveat about buggy platforms is added to the os.fork documentation.

Brett Cannon b2d61bde28 The _lsprof module could crash the interpreter if it was given an external 
timer that did not return a float and a timer was still running when the
Profiler object was garbage collected.

Fixes issue 3895.

Gerhard Häring 6e1afcf988 Fixes issue #3103. In the sqlite3 module, made one more function static. All renaming public symbos now have the pysqlite prefix to avoid name clashes. Amaury Forgeot d'Arc 05e344954d #3743: PY_FORMAT_SIZE_T is designed for the OS "printf" functions, not for 
PyString_FromFormat which has an independent implementation, and uses "%zd".

This makes a difference on win64, where printf needs "%Id" to display
64bit values. For example, queue.__repr__ was incorrect.

Amaury Forgeot d'Arc d3ffb8974f #3777: long(4.2) returned an int, and broke backward compatibility. 
the __long__ slot is allowed to return either int or long, but the behaviour of
float objects should not change between 2.5 and 2.6.

Brett Cannon 672237dc6c warnings.catch_warnings() now returns a list or None instead of the custom 
WarningsRecorder object. This makes the API simpler to use as no special object
must be learned.

Closes issue 3781.

Gregory P. Smith 980b99b529 - Issue #1204: The configure script now tests for additional libraries 
that may be required when linking against readline.  This fixes issues
  with x86_64 builds on some platforms (at least a few Linux flavors as
  well as OpenBSD/amd64).
